Overview
The Robena Gaines Flakes STEM 4 Girls private Pre-K 4 classroom is geared towards preparing girls for Kindergarten. In addition to learning the structure needed to succeed in the classroom, they will also explore the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math and dispel the gender stereotypes regarding this field. We will offer a variety of STEM activities and educational moments to broaden their view of what a STEM professional looks like and could actually be.
This classroom is named in honor of the founding director of our program as she cultivated the vision of creating a space for children to grow into whatever they wanted to be!
STEM 4 Girls Pre-K 4 classroom is open to all students in the tri-city area - Columbus, Fort Benning, and Phenix City!
Requirements
- $75.00 Registration Fee/$115.00 weekly tuition
- Uniforms must be worn (any color polo shirt with khaki or navy bottoms)
- Student must be four years old by October 15th
- GA Certificate of Immunization Form 3231
Why an all-girls STEM class?
- According to the U.S. Census Bureau, women represents only 15% of engineering careers and 26% of computer science careers.
- Based on data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), women represented 45% of STEM majors in 2020, up from 40% in 2010.
