Ms. Myra Lockhart is the Executive Director of Fourth Street Day Care in Columbus Georgia where she has overseen the early child hood development needs of children in the Columbus Georgia Area since 1973. Before Joining Fourth Street Day Care, Ms. Lockhart was an Independent contractor with Smart Start Georgia, where she assessed the needs and the quality improvement for child care centers. Ms. Lockhart was instrumental in Fourth Street Day Care receiving the first Center of Distinction recognition in the state of Georgia. Ms. Lockhart was the Director of Professional Development for Growing Room Child Development Center. Ms. Lockhart originally received her Child Care Development Training through the Department of The Army child care certification training in 1973. Ms. Lockhart was an instructor of Health and Safety, Disease and Injury Control for child care centers through Columbus State University Division of Continuing and Regional Education Services. She currently is certified as a director through the National Early Childhood Program. Ms. Lockhart earned her Child Care Associates (CDA), through Spellman College. Ms. Lockhart currently is a member of the Advisory Board for Columbus Technical College Education Department.
